Mika has been working as a professional guide on a vast range of photographic, walking and cultural safaris throughout Tanzania’s wilderness in places such as Ruaha National Park, Maasai Steppe, Tarangire National Park and the Serengeti. Each year he is one of the leaders for the six-week Lewis & Clark college student trip, providing lectures, marking papers and exams, and assisting students in conducting scientific research on various ungulates in the savannah.
Mika is rifle-accredited to walk with dangerous game and is a qualified Wilderness First Responder. He is fluent in English, Swahili and German, allowing him to converse with a wide range of people. Mika has an infectious enthusiasm for the wilderness and a passion for birding and photography. He entertains and informs with his vast knowledge and understanding of the varied eco-systems and diverse people of Tanzania, ensuring that all of his guests leave with new insight and unforgettable experiences.
