Neema Saruni

Meet Neema: A Journey of Passion and Perseverance

Neema's remarkable journey unfolds against the backdrop of Kimokouwa village in Longido district, where she was born and raised, immersed in the embrace of wildlife. Her upbringing was a testament to her resilience, overcoming initial barriers to education as her parents showed limited interest. However, a transformative scholarship from Compassion International paved the way for Neema's future, supporting her through primary and secondary education.

In 2018, Neema's aspirations bore fruit as she graduated from Sokoine University of Agriculture, specializing in wildlife management. Growing up in a vibrant Maasai village had ignited her passion for the wild, compelling her to embark on a path where she could share her profound knowledge and love for nature with others.

In 2020, Neema took her first steps towards realizing her dream by undergoing training with reputable companies, only to face a temporary setback due to the pandemic. Undeterred, she resumed her journey with Dorobo in 2022, resolute in her pursuit of becoming a guide.

Neema's bond with the natural world extends to her avid interest in birding, a passion that finds its roots in observing and studying birds in their undisturbed habitat. Strengthening her expertise, she embarked on birding excursions with Attraction Birds Conservation in 2022, refining her skills in bird identification and behavior.

Neema's path is one of unyielding dedication, an embodiment of passion and perseverance. As she forges ahead, she envisions herself not only as a guide but as a steadfast advocate for wildlife conservation and a true custodian of the avian wonders that grace our world.
