Rock climbing

Picture
Tanzania is full of rocks to be climbed mostly being granite and basalt. Not much has been developed but we offer rock climbing on top rope east of Tarangire. This area has wonderful granite with mostly face climbing right by camp. Difficulty ranges from 5.7 to 5.11 so great place to get the hole family involved in a day of climbing. Oldonyo Sambu is a community area where one can also explore the area on foot while learning from your local Maasai hosts. This is close to enter the eastern less crowded side of Tarangire National Park.

Themi falls is an area located close to Arusha town and is a great area to spend a day climbing. It offers some trad climbing but mostly top rope. The beautiful climbing setting close by a large river and huge forest trees makes this area even more special. One can finish the day of by rapping off a 20 meter waterfall! Great for those wanting a "rest" day before or after their safari.
